Saint-Laurent Economic Development (DESTL): Centre of Industrial Expertise (CEi MTL)

DESTL offers consulting services in business development, encourages manufacturing innovation, and promotes the creation of structuring projects. DESTL focuses on industrial innovation and initiates numerous projects to support its pool of R&D companies and encourage them to take the 4.0 shift.
DESTL is preparing the creation of the Centre d’expertise industrielle de Montréal (CEi), a first milestone in the creation of the Industrial Innovation Complex (CII) in Saint-Laurent. The mission of CEi MTL is to improve the productivity of Québec manufacturing SMEs by promoting and integrating 4.0 technologies and methods and by providing support to manufacturing companies.
To carry out its mission, CEi MTL offers services based on four pillars:

  1. Support for the 4.0 shift: digital transformation project; assistance in the implementation of technological equipment in the plant; improvement of robotization and automation; digital maturity evaluation; strategic planning; change management; project financing;
  2. Technological showcase: demonstration of innovative technological equipment, plant school;
  3. Training: 4.0 awareness; professional training for plant employees;
  4. Coworking space: to propel the commercialization of emerging 4.0 technology companies.

Centre national intégré du manufacturier intelligent (CNIMI)

Currently located on the UQTR campus in Drummondville, the CNIMI is the result of the concerted actions of educational institutions grouped together in the form of the Centre-du-Québec regional pole for higher education. The CNIMI aims to bring together university and college components as well as manufacturing companies in order to create synergy and knowledge transfer between the training and research communities. The Centre inter-ordre de recherche et de transfert au service du manufacturier intelligent (CIRT-MI) is made up of researchers whose work focuses on the transformation of organizations, up to the development and transfer of technologies for 4.0.

Québec International is the economic development agency for the National Capital Region. The CEI of Québec City offers free support programs to companies wishing to make the digital shift or migration to Industry 4.0.

Centre d’Excellence Gestion de l’entreprise manufacturière innovante (CEGEMI)

CEGEMI was set up by Productique Québec, the CEGEP de Sherbrooke’s college center for technology transfer. This centre of excellence helps companies develop their projects through the integration of new technologies in terms of project content, support for the project manager, and the creation of links with the regional innovation network.

Innovation 4.0 Network

Eight Québec universities have joined forces to create the Innovation 4.0 Network. The purpose of the interuniversity Innovation 4.0 Network (Network 4.0) is to establish inter-university collaboration in research and development, and in the training of Québec’s highly qualified workforce for the various application areas of Industry 4.0 technologies. The participating Québec universities are : Concordia University, École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), Université Laval, Polytechnique Montréal, McGill University, Université Sherbrooke, Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and Université du Québec à Trois Rivières (UQTR).

Laboratoire Poly-Industries 4.0

The mission of the Poly-Industries 4.0 laboratory is to help Québec and Canadian companies meet the challenges related to the emergence of Industry 4.0. The laboratory is used in particular to: train students on the technologies and concepts supporting Industry 4.0; support the managers of manufacturing companies and consultants in Québec to improve their business practices and; develop research projects to improve and validate the implementation of 4.0 strategies.
