From an early age, was making paper airplanes and putting together model cars and homes your idea of fun? Well, you’ll get to play for a lifetime if you become an aircraft assembler! Spending your life following technical drawings to assemble, fit and install parts to build aircrafts and components . . . it’s not work, it’s pleasure!
For their part, aircraft assembly inspectors check the assemblies to enforce compliance with the highest standards. Using instruments for measurement and verification, they make sure that everything is impeccable and then write detailed inspection reports.
Schooling
To hold one of these jobs, you’ll need a high school diploma and a college diploma in aviation or aviation technology (especially in aircraft manufacturing). Once you’re on the job, you’ll also need to pursue more training. To become an inspector, good experience as an aircraft assembler is a must.
